Summary
As a member of the technical staff, the Electrical Engineering intern is responsible for the development of cutting-edge robotic software and hardware solutions for logistics and e-commerce applications.


Essential Functions

  1. Assists in developing, testing, and productizing of an Induction Cell to include software and hardware such as sensors, controls and test scripts.
  2. Assist in the development of the Induction to include assembly, operation and testing of the cell.
  3. Compose/present technical communication with/for colleagues.
  4. Develop test plans to diagnose and isolate root causes.
  1. Assists in problem resolution specific to the program/project.
  2. Participates in project teams and all activities related to the development of new products.
  1. Solve problems that arise proactively and creatively

Required Education and Experience
A student who has or will have completed their second year (or equivalent) of college or higher, has a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher in their major classes, currently studying Electrical / Computer Engineering , or any related field.


Preferred Education and Experience
Experience with any of the following:

  • Programming Languages: C++, Python
  • Libraries: ROS, OpenCv, PSQL,
  • Tools: Git, Github/Gitlab, IDEs
  • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux (Ubuntu)
  • Other Skills: Agile software development, Test driven development,
  • Test equipment experience: Oscilloscope, multimeter, amp meters etc.


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must have reliable transportation.


Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This position will also have occasional work in the warehouse, either in our facility or our customer’s. While performing the duties of this job, the intern may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Part or Full time, 20-40 hours/week between M-F, 9:00am-6:00pm.  We can be flexible with schedules for the right candidate.


Travel
No overnight travel is anticipated for this position. Some occasional local day travel may be necessary.


Work Authorization
Must be able to show documentation that shows authorization to legally work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
